Use Locations to manage the public contact information, directions, weekly hours, holidays, brand assignment, Chat coverage, and AI behavior for each branch.

## Find a location

- **Search locations** matches saved location name, brand, address, phone, and email. It filters the current list only and does not change saved information.
- **Brand filter** limits the visible list to locations assigned to one brand. Clear it to return to all brands; changing the filter does not reassign anything.

## Bulk brand assignment

1. Select **Bulk edit**.
2. Use **Select locations** to choose individual visible rows or **Select all visible**. A filter can hide unselected rows, so verify the selection count before continuing.
3. In **Bulk brand**, choose the destination under **Assign selected to**, then select **Apply brand**. The value replaces the brand only for the selected locations.

Only selected locations change. Brand reassignment immediately moves a location to the new brand page and can change how it appears in Chat, Listings, and AI. Review those customer experiences after a bulk edit.

## Details fields

| Field | Rules and consequence |
| --- | --- |
| **Location name** | Customer-visible name entered for each enabled language. A missing secondary translation falls back to the primary name. Use a name customers recognize that clearly distinguishes the branch. |
| **Address** | The complete address customers recognize. It supports directions, location search, time-zone detection, and Google listing matching. Select a suggested address when available and verify the saved text. |
| **Google listing link** | The public Google listing for this branch. Choose the intended location; do not paste a private Google management link or another branch's profile. |
| **Detected time zone** | The time zone found from the saved address. If it says **Needs review**, confirm the address or set an override before publishing hours or using time-based features. |
| **Time zone override** | Optional city or region such as `America/Chicago`. It replaces the detected time zone for schedules and coverage. Clear it to use the detected zone again; do not use abbreviations such as `CST` or a fixed offset. |

The effective location time zone controls weekly hours, holiday dates, Chat coverage, and AI after-hours behavior. Review all four after changing the address or time zone.

## Public location pages

Each active, non-archived location has a deterministic page beneath its assigned brand at `/<brand-page-link>/locations/<location-id>`. The final segment is an opaque, stable identifier managed by Customer Help rather than a name customers edit, so changing the location name does not change that URL. The page's first response includes the location's approved public name, address, contact details, hours, holiday information, and links without requiring browser JavaScript before search systems can read them.

The primary language stays on that unprefixed route. A non-primary Spanish version starts with `/es/`, and a non-primary English version starts with `/en/`. On an active primary custom domain, a default-brand location uses `/locations/<location-id>`; an additional brand keeps `/<brand-page-link>/locations/<location-id>`. The same language prefixes apply there. The corresponding standard `customer.help` URL redirects to the custom domain while it is active.

### Search-readable location information

The visible page and its LocalBusiness information use the same approved values. When available, that information includes the localized location name, postal address, monitored phone and email, valid weekly hours, and the next valid holiday closure or modified-hours exception within 30 days. The holiday entry uses the same saved date, status, and opening or closing times shown to the customer.

Directions, call, email, and configured Google or Yelp review destinations are customer actions. Review destinations are not treated as alternate identities for the location. Blank or invalid fields are omitted. Coordinates, Google Place IDs, and service areas are not published through the page or its customer-readable location information. See [Verify Customer Help product claims](/help/evidence-methodology.md#confirm-a-public-location-page).

## Contact fields

- **Phone** is the public number for this exact location. Use a number your team monitors, include enough dialing context, and verify it reaches the intended branch.
- **Email** is the public mailbox for this location. Use a monitored address and avoid personal inboxes when a durable team address is available.

A blank contact value removes that contact option from the public experience and can cause a Dashboard or Listings warning. If this location is connected to Google, saving may also update its listing; confirm the result in Listings.

## Review fields

- **Google review link** is the public absolute URL used for the Google destination in the Follow experience. Test it signed out and confirm it opens this exact branch's review flow.
- **Yelp review link** is the equivalent public Yelp destination. Confirm it opens the intended location rather than a search page, staff account, or another branch.

## Brand assignment

**Brand assignment** selects the one public brand page that includes this location. Reassignment does not erase hours, holidays, or conversation history, but it changes customer navigation and which brand's Chat and AI settings apply; review those experiences afterward.

## Remove a location

Removing a location takes it off public brand pages and can change your subscription, Listings connection, Chat availability, and AI behavior. Past conversations do not move to another location. Edit the location instead if you only need to correct its information.

Removal is also the current unpublish action; there is no separate location publication switch. A saved removal marks the location inactive and archived. Its public URL then returns a genuine not-found response and leaves generated sitemaps within the five-minute sitemap cache target. Search engines may continue showing an already indexed result until they recrawl it.

## Permissions, billing, localization, and visibility

Only Administrators manage locations. Active locations determine the base subscription quantity, and locations with Chat or AI can add the prices shown in Billing. Location names support authored translations. Address, phone, email, review links, brand assignment, hours, and holidays are customer-visible. The selected time zone affects the schedules customers see.

## Troubleshooting

- **Time zone says Needs review:** save a complete address, wait for detection, or set a verified override.
- **Locations are not ordered by distance:** confirm each complete address and choose a suggested address when available. Customers can still search by name or address when distance ordering is unavailable.
- **Listing does not match:** confirm complete address and phone, connect Google, refresh status, and resolve readiness warnings.
- **Remove is rejected:** review the location's Chat, AI, Listings, team access, and Billing settings, then try again. If it remains unavailable, [contact support](/help/reference.md#reference-support).
